Thank you for using YumYum: Kid Nutrition Tracker, developed by Querky Dev's (com.querkydevs.yumyum). This Privacy Policy explains how YumYum handles your information.

YumYum is designed to be a privacy-first, offline app. We built it with one core principle: your family's data stays on your device.

YumYum does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. There is no account required, no cloud sync, and no analytics tracking.

📱 What Data Is Stored — And Where

All data you enter into YumYum is stored locally on your device only using:

SQLite Database: Logged meals, ingredient portions, fluid logs.
Local Storage: Child profiles, preferences, streak counter, notification settings, favorites, theme.

This data includes:

Child's first name, date of birth, and age
Child's weight and height (optional)
Dietary tags / allergy information
Meal logs (foods eaten, portions, dates, photos)
Fluid intake logs (milk/water)
App preferences and notification times

None of this data is transmitted to Querky Dev's or any third party. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export a backup file.

💾 Data Backup & Export

YumYum provides a backup and restore feature that lets you:

Export all your app data (profiles, meals, recipes) as a .json file to your device storage.
Import a previously exported backup file to restore your data.

This export is performed locally on your device. Querky Dev's does not receive, access, or store this backup file. You control where you save or share it.

If you choose to share your backup file via email, cloud storage, or messaging apps, the privacy policy of those services applies to that shared data.

📷 Camera & Photo Access

YumYum requests optional access to your device's camera and photo library to allow you to:

Attach a photo to a logged meal (take new photo or select from gallery).
Update a recipe's cover photo.

Photos are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded, transmitted, or shared anywhere by the app. Camera and photo access is entirely optional. You can use all core features without granting it.

🔔 Push Notifications

YumYum can send local push notifications to remind you when a meal time is approaching or a feeding slot has been missed.

Notifications are generated entirely on-device using Android's local notification system.
No notification content is sent to or through external servers.
You can customize notification times per meal slot or disable them entirely from the Profile screen.
On Android 13+, you will be prompted to grant notification permission.

🔐 Android Permissions Explained

Permission	Why It's Needed
CAMERA	Allows you to take a photo when logging a meal. Optional.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES	Allows selecting an existing photo from your gallery for a meal log. Optional.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Required on Android 13+ to show meal reminder notifications.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM	Delivers meal reminders at the specific times you configure.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED	Re-schedules meal reminders after your device restarts.
VIBRATE	Haptic feedback when you interact with buttons and log actions.

👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

YumYum is designed to be used by parents and caregivers on behalf of their children. The app is not intended to be used directly by children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 directly. All data entered (such as a child's name or date of birth) is managed by the parent or guardian and stored only on their personal device.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at querkydevs@gmail.com.

🗑️ Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time:

Delete a Profile: Go to Profile screen → select a profile → Delete Profile. This removes all meals, logs, and data associated with that profile.
Delete individual meals: Swipe left on any meal card to delete, or use the long-press menu → Delete.
Uninstall the app: Uninstalling YumYum removes all app data from your device.

🔗 Third-Party Services

YumYum uses the following third-party technology components:

No advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, social media SDKs, or external AI services are integrated into YumYum.

🛡️ Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data is protected by:

Your device's own operating system security (screen lock, encryption at rest).
Android's app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing YumYum's data.

We recommend enabling a screen lock and device encryption on your Android device for maximum data protection.

⚠️ Medical Disclaimer

YumYum provides educational nutritional estimates based on WHO pediatric guidelines and standard food portion conversions.

YumYum is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Nutrition calculations are approximations and should be used as a guide only.

Always consult a qualified pediatrician or registered dietitian for medical nutrition advice for your child.

📄 Changes to This Privacy Policy

Querky Dev's may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we will make efforts to notify users through an in-app notice in the next app update.
